Creating A Visual Flow In Your Home

Open concept designs may seem like the newest design trends, but many older homes also have them.  In fact, there are many times when a home will be outfitted with multiple living spaces, whether it is a media room or a sitting room. 

Oftentimes, with these kind of large, open spaces it can be hard to create cohesion between multiple sections.  However, in terms of interior design, there are many design tricks you can employ to bring all elements together.

First, try to pair the accents of one area with the solids of another.  In addition, you can also use similar furniture, patterns, or textures.  The key is to not utilize the same design throughout, but rather compliment it.  Not only does this create a design that seems to visually flow, but it will also make each section unique in their own right as well.
